Course content:
This course builds on the fundamental principles of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) and expands your clinical skills in applying DNS concepts to pelvic floor dysfunctions. The focus is on viscero-somatic relationships and their significance for musculoskeletal disorders.
Disorders of internal organs can lead to a wide variety of musculoskeletal complaints. Therefore, in the functional diagnostics of the locomotor system, it is essential to consider viscero-somatic connections as possible underlying causes. Reflex-like changes in muscle and connective tissue, joint blockages, or altered motor stereotypes are common accompanying phenomena in organ dysfunctions and play a central role in rehabilitation.
It becomes evident that many gynecological symptoms (e.g., amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, functional infertility) are linked to movement patterns of the motor system—protective reactions registered and regulated by the central nervous system. Conversely, functional deficits in the spine and pelvis may be mistakenly interpreted as gynecological complaints.
