Diagnosis & Management of Knee Injuries
Kurssprache: Englisch, Übersetzung wenn notwendig
This practical course focuses on the assessment and treatment of acute soft tissue injuries of the knee (e.g. ACL, PCL, and meniscal injuries) as well as chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis. A key element is evidence-based diagnosis based on guidelines developed in New Zealand.
A special focus is placed on muscular injuries, particularly hamstring strains and tears. A structured rehabilitation program will be presented, including detailed guidance on return-to-sport strategies.
The course also covers prevention and rehabilitation of ACL injuries (pre- and post-surgery), return-to-play criteria, long-term management, and sex-specific rehabilitation approaches. Practical sessions include ligament and meniscal testing as well as functional return-to-play assessments.
For osteoarthritis, the course presents the latest research on strengthening and stretching programs, long-term load reduction, and rehabilitation following total knee replacement.
